Today, the Foundation for Justice, Development and Peace (FJDP) joins millions of individuals and organizations worldwide in commemorating #WorldRefugeeDay. This day serves as a reminder of the incredible strength and resilience displayed by refugees and those forcibly displaced from their homes.
In the Benue State capital, FJDP, in collaboration with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), state government officials, the general public, United Nations (UN) agencies, and other partners, took part in a meaningful #RefugeeDay walk. This walk was a powerful demonstration of solidarity with those who have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict, persecution, or other adversities.
On this day, we celebrate a world where refugees are not only welcomed but are also provided with the support and assistance they need to rebuild their lives. We extend a heartfelt thank you to Nigeria for exemplifying this spirit of hospitality and compassion by welcoming 90,000 refugees with open arms.
As we mark #WorldRefugeeDay, let us reaffirm our commitment to upholding the rights and dignity of all individuals who have been displaced, and let us work together to create a more inclusive and welcoming world for everyone.
