On behalf of the Organization and with the permission of our Bishop, the most Revd Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe CMF to inform you about this year's World Day for the Poor (WDFP) 2022 which is the sixth edition since its establishment by Pope Francis.
This year's theme: “For your sakes Christ became poor” (cf. 2 Cor 8:9) has been presented by the pope to draw our attention to the ever-increasing numbers of the poor in our midst and the need to respond to them in Christian charity.
FJDP has been feverent in observing this annual event since 2018. The organisation commemorates the day by giving out mainly food and non food items to the poor particularly to our brothers and sisters who are displaced.
The effects of displacement can never be overemphasized. There are over thousands of displaced persons (IDP) in camps/host communities we visit.
The situation of poverty amongst the most vulnerable in IDP camps has not changed, hence we solicit your kind support financially or with food items to aid us reach these poor children of God who have lost virtually everything.
