In an earnest endeavor to provide solace to internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have endured multiple displacements due to ongoing violence, many of whom have lost their social connections and are grappling with profound trauma, FJDP conducted Psychosocial and Trauma Healing sessions in Naka Camp, Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue state. The goal was to alleviate the emotional burden weighing on these individuals.
During these sessions, the IDPs not only participated in therapeutic activities but also displayed their resilience and joy. They showcased their dancing prowess, swaying with exuberance and happiness. Some engaged in friendly games of Draft, Ludo, and various other pastimes. The day culminated with an invigorating football match, with the IDP women enthusiastically taking part.
The gratitude expressed by the IDPs towards FJDP was heartwarming. They found solace in these activities, which momentarily helped them forget the hardships of their current circumstances.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to UNHCR for their funding support and invaluable assistance in our mission to bring smiles to the faces of these IDPs.
