Echoes of Tragedy in Hirnyam: Benue Community's Unyielding Quest for Justice
Aug 12, 2023
In our ongoing efforts to enhance the well-being and promote peaceful coexistence among internally displaced persons (IDPs), FJDP organized a series of engaging psychosocial activities at Jato Aka in Kwande LGA, Benue State.
Recognizing the importance of trauma healing and the positive impact of recreational activities, we facilitated sessions that fostered a sense of community joy, and resilience. Participants had the opportunity to engage in games such as cards, Ludo, draft, and dar, providing them with a much-needed break from the challenges they face.
The power of dance was also harnessed during the event, as participants came together to express themselves through movement. Dance serves as a form of self-expression, promoting emotional well-being and aiding in the healing process.
By organizing these psychosocial activities, we aim to create a safe space where IDPs can find solace, build connections, and strengthen their resilience. These activities provide an opportunity for individuals to momentarily set aside their hardships and rediscover their joy and inner strength.
We express our gratitude to the participants who wholeheartedly embraced these activities and shared in the spirit of togetherness. Their involvement contributes to the collective healing and fostering of a supportive community.
As we continue our mission to support and empower IDPs, we remain committed to organizing initiatives that promote peaceful coexistence, resilience building, and holistic well-being.
