FJDP led by the Programme Manager paid an advocacy visit to the leadership of Guma LGA. A meeting was held between FJDP and the local authorities represented by the DGSA
The Leadership of Guma Local Government Council in Benue State pledges commitment to building resilient communities at the boundary with Nasarawa state, hails FJDP and Misereor for the Strengthening Community Resilience Programme ongoing in Benue and Nasarawa states.
The Representative of the Chairman lamented the setbacks caused by armed conflicts between pastoralists and farmers in the two states especially Guma and Awe LGAs of Benue and Nasarawa highlighting that trauma levels are high, livelihoods have collapsed and there are armed actors taking advantage of ungoverned spaces at the boundary between the states to continue armed attacks.
The council adopted the inter-state early warning initiative and promised collaboration with stakeholders to strengthen security architecture for Resilience.
