FJDP carried out a vital mission in the Agasha community, situated in Guma LGA. This community has endured relentless attacks since 2018, with the most recent one occurring in 2022 and 2023. Consequently, its residents have lived in a perpetual state of fear, anticipating further attacks.
One of the gravest consequences of this ongoing crisis has been the prolonged absence of children from school. They have been unable to attend school since the inception of these attacks. In response to this dire situation, FJDP with support from the Bishop, took upon itself the noble mission of delivering educational opportunities to these vulnerable children, even in the midst of this crisis.
Yesterday marked a significant milestone as the IDP children sat for their common entrance examinations, a crucial step towards beginning their educational journey. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Bishop of Makurdi Diocese for his tireless efforts in ensuring these children receive the best education possible.
Additionally, we express our deepest thanks to ACN - Aid to the Church in Need international for their invaluable support in this noble endeavour, we have been able to provide these children with the chance to receive an education, even in the midst of adversity.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors for their generosity and support. It is through your compassion and contributions that we can work towards brighter futures for these IDP children, ensuring they have access to the education they deserve.
