Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi Reappoints Revd. Fr. Remigius Ihyula as FJDP Coordinator
In a recent development, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Makurdi, Most Rev. Wilfred Chikpa Anagbe, CMF, has reappointed Revd. Fr. Remigius Ihyula as the Coordinator of the Foundation for Justice, Development and Peace (FJDP), while Revd. Fr. Philip Doolumun Apuu will now serve as Acting Coordinator.
Fr. Remigius announced his reappointment during FJDP’s general staff meeting on Monday, September 7, 2026, which brought together staff members from all FJDP locations in Nigeria and beyond. He expressed his appreciation to the Bishop for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the organisation once again and for finding him worthy to drive FJDP forward in achieving its mission and objectives.
He also appreciated the FJDP Board of Directors for their continued support and commitment to the growth and progress of the organisation.
Fr. Remigius acknowledged the efforts and contributions of Fr. Philip Doolumun Apuu, commending his dedication and commitment to advancing the organisation’s mission during his tenure as Coordinator. He expressed appreciation for the progress made under his leadership and wished him continued success in his new role as Acting Coordinator.
The Coordinator further acknowledged the contributions and dedication of FJDP staff, encouraging everyone to intensify their efforts towards improving the lives of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and creating meaningful and lasting impact in the communities FJDP serves.
Fr. Remigius also highlighted the need to strengthen FJDP’s interventions in key thematic areas but not limited to, livelihood support for IDPs, facilitating the safe and dignified return of displaced persons to their ancestral communities, addressing the effects of climate change, and promoting agricultural development.
In his remarks, Fr. Philip congratulated Fr. Remigius on his reappointment and thanked him for his contributions to the organisation, as well as the support he had continued to provide even during his absence. He assured Fr. Remigius of his full support in his new role and thanked the staff for their continued cooperation and commitment.
Speaking on behalf of the staff, the Program Manager, Mr. Kwaghchimin Valentine congratulated Revd. Fr. Remigius Ihyula on his reappointment and commended his continued dedication to advancing the development and mission of FJDP. He encouraged staff members to remain committed to their responsibilities and continue working together towards achieving the organization’s goals.
